Originally developed as a military deployable helimat, the CGear Multimat was designed to stop rotor wash from throwing dust, dirt and debris everywhere. The same patented technology now gives campers, caravanners and tourers a cleaner, more comfortable outdoor living space. Sand, dirt and dust fall through the mat and stay there instead of being tracked into your tent, van or vehicle.

What is a Multimat?

The Multimat is a dual-layer dust abatement mat that prevents dust and filth from transferring from the outside to the inside of your tent, caravan, or camper trailer.

What is Multimat made from?

Multimat is comprised of high density polypropylene, knitted mono/mono, fully bound all the way around, with pegs every half metre.

Why doesn’t sand rise to the top of the Multimat?

This is owing to the two layers and the law of gravity. Sand and grime will not rise to the surface of the multimat because the numerous layers provide maximum resistance. This prevents sand and dirt from entering the tent, caravan, or camper trailer, unlike a single layer mat, which has no resistance.

Can I put pegs through the mat?

Tent pegs can be pegged into multimats, but they are not designed to be pegged. The mat material includes rip stop technology, which means it will not tear or fray if you poke a hole in it.

Do I have to peg the Multimat down to the ground?

Multimat is intended to be anchored to all D-rings for maximum effectiveness.

Is there a warranty?

Multimat carries a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. This is a manufacturer warranty, such as poor sewing or material. Faulty products should be returned to the place of purchase, together with a copy of the original receipt.

Will camp furniture damage the Multimat?

All decent camp furniture has leg guards or loop legs to protect the mat from harm. If the legs contain plastic guards, these must be changed with rubber protection to prevent slippage.

Will mud ruin the mat?

From our experience, the same concept applies when mud does not rise to the top layer. Mud left on top of the Multimat will dry, turn to dust, and evaporate back to the ground.

Does it matter what side of the Multimat you use?

Multimat is totally reversible, so it may be used with either the green or grey sides facing up.

Does sand & dust get caught between the Multimat layers?

Dust, dirt, and sand particles will not be trapped between the layers; they will fall through the top layer, then the second layer, and finally to the ground.
